Adventure Teen Camp is ideal for teens looking for new experiences
and new friends. Team-building and group decision-making are a central feature
of this camp, as campers develop their own itinerary for one trip a week. Teens
also participate in a volunteer service project each week to both foster their
sense of community and help them exercise their individual talents. Some regularly
scheduled trips include weekly visits to the Jersey Shore and Hopewell Quarry.
Other highlight trip destinations include museums, theme parks and other attractions
in New York, Philadelphia and the Delaware Water Gap. Two overnight trips during
the summer offer teens the opportunity to camp out in some wonderful outdoor
destinations.

The Counselor-in-Training program is a leadership development
experience that prepares CITs to become counselors at age 16. To be accepted
into the program, individuals go through a screening process. CITs then receive
intensive training in such areas as child development, communication skills,
activity planning, CPR and First Aid, which leads to Red Cross certification.
This is the only apprenticeship training program for ninth- and 10th-graders
in Princeton. The program motivates, trains, challenges and directs these young
people to become positive leaders and volunteers. An interview with the director
is required for enrollment.

Discovery Camp is about the thrill of working on an art project
and proudly taking it home for display. It’s about the satisfaction of learning
how to swim or scoring a goal on the soccer field. We engage children in developing
an appreciation for the outdoors through hikes, nature lessons and science projects.
Campers sing songs and act out skits, play group games, gain sports skills and
more. Each week revolves around a theme and includes a highlight trip to an exciting
local destination. Campers receive swimming lessons twice a week and participate
in free swim twice a week. In West Windsor, Discovery Camp is visited weekly
the West Windsor Police Department. Officers provide hands-on lessons for the
campers in areas such as pool safety, fire safety, playground, car and bicycle
safety.

a sense of community. We give campers opportunities to make group decisions and

a highlight trip to an exciting local destination, plus one additional local
trip a week. Our annual Explorer Camp Overnight at the Princeton Family YMCA

At YMCA Sports Camp, teaching sports skills to active youngsters
is just the beginning. The camp uses sports such as soccer, basketball, baseball,
football, floor hockey and special YMCA group games as tools to teach and demonstrate
lifelong values. Good sportsmanship is emphasized, counselors are top-notch and
fun is guaranteed. Younger campers (K-2nd grade) focus more on having fun while
learning sports fundamentals and the importance of teamwork.
Older campers (3rd-5th grades) focus on expanding their knowledge
and athletic abilities. Daily scrimmages allow campers to further develop skills
with competitive play. Swimming is included four days a week and each week includes

Princeton Montessori School ‘Everything Under the Sun’ Summer
2001 offers wonderful summertime activities. The infants love Early Discoveries
as they explore the outdoors. The toddlers gather an appreciation of the great

walks and enjoy fun in the sun water activities. The 3-5 Natural Wonders brim
with excitement over new discoveries made as they cook, become artists, experiment
